Neverland Ranch

Listed for $100 Million

By Christine Aebischer

The late Michael Jackson’s Neverland Ranch is on the market for $100 million. Now known as Sycamore Valley Ranch, the Los Olivos, California, gated estate of approximately 2,700 acres includes 22 structures and is being listed by Hilton & Hyland and Sotheby’s International Realty. While the amusement park rides and exotic animals are no longer present, the iconic floral clock that spells out “Neverland” and the railroad tracks and train station remain.

NeverlandThe main home, designed by Robert Altevers for William Bone in 1982, is in the French-Normandy style and features approximately 12,598 square feet and 6 bedrooms, including a main-floor master suite with a private loft and two master baths. Also included are three separate guest homes, a 5,500-square-foot movie theater with a stage and seating for 50, several barns, animal shelter facilities, corrals and a maintenance shop.

This private oasis, in the heart of the Santa Ynez Valley wine country, enjoys the San Rafael and Santa Ynez mountains as backdrops, and it has extensively landscaped gardens, a four-acre lake with a waterfall, and stunning pastoral views to the south. An extensive outdoor barbecue area, swimming pool with a cabana, basketball court and tennis court also are included.

The King of Pop resided at the ranch for over 15 years, and when he defaulted on a loan backed by the ranch, real estate investment firm Colony Capital bought the note and took possession of Neverland. Since then, Colony Capital has extensively renovated the property.
