The Residences at Gurney’s Montauk are the Most Successful Development in Montauk History.
In three short months, The Residences at Gurney’s have become the hottest commodity on the East End, and is the most successful development in Montauk history. The first two homes, sold earlier this summer, will close this week at over $3,000 per foot, a record for comparable sold homes in the Hamptons. With less than half of the development remaining, there has been a flurry of in-season activity and a succession of swift sales, far exceeding the precedent set by competitive properties in the area in the past. The Serhant Team at Nest Seekers International has the exclusive listing, with sales agents Ryan Serhant and Robert Canberg at the helm.
“We are ecstatic to see such excitement surrounding the Residences at Gurney’s,” said Ryan Serhant. “The buyer profiles represent a local as well as international group of who’s who in the world of finance, tech, publishing and entertainment. People are looking for a place that provides the full-service lifestyle that is so readily available in big cities like Manhattan, and Gurney’s had cornered the market here in Montauk. There is nothing else like this.”
The Residences at Gurney’s were bought and developed by George Filopoulos and Lloyd Goldman in late 2015. The partners, who own the adjacent Gurney’s Montauk Resort & Seawater Spa, wasted no time in repositioning the Residences and redefining oceanfront living in the Hamptons. Sales launched during Memorial Day Weekend.
In May 2015, The Residences were unveiled as 12 oceanfront homes adjacent to the existing resort property. Offering dramatic proximity to the water, as homes can never be built this close to the ocean again, The Residences are a one-of-a-kind opportunity.
There are four two-bedroom, three three-bedroom, four four-bedroom, and one five-bedroom properties in total, ranging from 2,000- 5,000 square feet. The interior design is a blend of the iconic Hamptons-style seaside cottages façade, with the use of light woods, cool marble slabs and a neutral color palette. Owners have access to the Gurney’s lifestyle and amenities, which includes butler service (including preparation for arrival), home maintenance, dedicated beach cabanas, beach nannies watersport equipment storage, as well as access to Gurney’s food and beverage (including Scarpetta Beach and room service), seawater spa and pool, wellness retreats and fitness classes and entertainment.
“In the past three years, Gurney’s Montauk has undergone various renovations and updates to become the leading luxury lifestyle property in the Hamptons and one of the most exciting resort destinations in the country,” said George Filopoulos. “The addition of The Residences, and their quick sales, demonstrates how coveted this scarce oceanfront commodity is, especially with the offer of an all-encompassing experience.”
The prices for remaining homes start at $4.695 million.
