Delivering 73 stories at 1,100 feet tall, the InterContinental Los Angeles Downtown hotel will become the tallest building west of Chicago and the largest InterContinental hotel in the Americas this summer.
The hotel will provide 889 rooms, offering designed guest rooms and suites, world-class dining, and an impressive 73rd floor Sky Deck Bar – the tallest open-air bar in the Western Hemisphere, boasting 360-degree views of the city and the Pacific.

Located at the nexus of downtown’s historic, entertainment, financial, arts and sports districts, and just blocks from the Staples Center, L.A. Live and the Microsoft Theater – the InterContinental Los Angeles Downtown hotel, located within the Wilshire Grand, will lead the way as a new icon of luxury hospitality in downtown Los Angeles.
Slated to open early summer 2017, the hotel will also house 94,977 square feet of indoor / outdoor meeting and event spaces, including an elegant 21,379-square-foot Grand Ballroom and a signature Club InterContinental Lounge.

The InterContinental Los Angeles Downtown hotel was designed to capture the Southern California lifestyle at its finest. Sophisticated, edgy and metropolitan – the InterContinental Los Angeles Downtown hotel will shine through interactive art and design features stretching from the lobby to the 73rd floor.
Every element of the design is inspired by architectural historian Reyner Banham’s book, Los Angeles: The Architecture of Four Ecologies, which examines how Surfurbia, Foothills, Plains of Id and Autopia make up the identity of the Los Angeles landscape. AC Martin Architectural Design Group built on this theory by adding a fifth element into the mix: Downtown.

From intricate light fixtures inspired by LA’s infamous freeways to billboard-like headboards in each guest room reflecting LA’s classic beach towns, foothills, car culture and urban scene, the InterContinental Los Angeles Downtown hotel aims to bring a fresh, iconic and worldly perspective of Los Angeles to travelers and locals alike.
Set to serve as downtown Los Angeles’ new culinary hot spot, the InterContinental Los Angeles Downtown hotel will offer a variety of dining options to satisfy every craving and occasion. The 71st floor will boast a high-end steakhouse with a French twist, offering private dining rooms and hidden booths to accommodate VIP clientele. The 69th floor will host a multi-cuisine, three-meal restaurant with an international flair, including options ranging from wood-fired pizza to a sushi bar.

On the 73rd floor is the Sky Deck Bar & Lounge – the highest point in Los Angeles and beyond – and will offer signature cocktails, a bar menu, chic firepits and endless, views of the city at every angle. In addition, the Sky Lobby Bar can be found on the 70th floor, decked out in marble and sleek décor and offering a pre- or post-dinner cocktail.
Keeping the Los Angeles indoor-outdoor lifestyle top-of-mind, the InterContinental Los Angeles Downtown hotel will also be the first LEED-Gold Certified for Building Design and Construction in downtown Los Angeles.
