The National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) hosted this year’s International Builders’ Show in Orlando, Florida last week. The show was part of the overall Design & Construction Week and ended on a high note for many design and manufacturing businesses that came to contend.
The show welcomed approximately 80,000 attendees as part of Design & Construction Week. These professionals discovered a variety of products and concepts that are sure to bring change to the industry.
Over 400 entries in nine categories were received in the 2017 Best of IBS Awards. Twenty-eight industry and media judges, including Unique Homes’ freelancer Camilla McLaughlin, deliberated on which products were the best of the best. The list below includes the category winners, as well as the overall Best in Show winner, which was announced at the Best of IBS Awards event on Thursday, Jan. 12.
Best in Show & Best Kitchen Product
A product of Atmospheric Water Solutions, Inc., the AquaBoy® Pro II atmospheric water generator draws air in through the HEPA air filter to make 2 to 5 gallons of “purified great tasting water,” free of harmful chemicals or metals. Best Window & Door Product
Andersen Windows, Inc. had the best Window & Door Product at the IBS, winning with its new MultiGlide door. These patio doors are comprised of large spans of glass, offered in all-aluminum or aluminum-clad wood styles of panel. Available in exterior and interior options, the MultiGlide door fits openings up to 25-feet-wide and 10-feet-tall.

Most Innovative Building Product
Regal Ideas Inc. has an array of railing products, but the one that stood out to the judges at the show was the Aluminum Railing with LED as the Most Innovative Product. Made from 100% pure high strength aluminum and baked with a premium UV powder coated finish, these railings also include energy efficient LED technology to light the way. Best Green Building Product
Greyter Water Systems creates out-of-the-box water reuse management solutions which reduce the water and wastewater demands of commercial and residential buildings. The company won this award with the Greyter HOME, a product that recycles shower and bath water to repurpose for other needs, such as toilet flushing or irrigation. Patent pending, this product is the first of its kind that is cost effective and leaves a small carbon footprint in the home.

Best Indoor Living Product

Best Home Technology Product
The international 3D rendering and consulting company Biorev won Best Home Technology Product for the Biorev 360 application. The company provides expertise in 3D renderings, floor plans, virtual tours and animation, mostly utilized by building companies. Biorev 360 is a new application for devices to “share virtual reality experience to commercial as well as residential builders.”
